FLUOROPLASTICS

Flugenx® fluoroplastics are alkane polymer, in which hydrogen is wholly or partly replaced with fluoride. They include PTFE, perfluoro (ethylene propylene), FEP copolymer, PFA resin, PCTFF, ECTFE, ETFE copolymer, PVDF and PVF etc.

Flugenx® fluoroplastics can be molded and processed into plates, rods, cocket wrenches, tapes, gasket rings, diaphragms, metal inserts and so on. Flugenx® fluoroplastics, available for injection molding, provide favorable conditions for product innovations.

In addition, we can provide color matching services to meet the customer's various demands.

Merits and Faults

Highlights:

1. Excellent heat resistance and flame retardancy

2. Excellent resistance to chemical reagents and solvents

3. Excellent electrical properties, especially the unmatched high frequency electrical property

4. Excellent mechanical strength

5. Non-sticky

6. Excellent weatherability, even when exposed at severe temperatures for a long time

7. Low water absorption

Limitations:

1. Relatively higher raw material prices and smaller market outputs

2. Difficult production and high production costs

3. Liable to be affected by molten alkali metal, fluorine and trifluoro chlorhydrocarbon

4. Liable to cause changes in crystallinity during long-term use at high temperatures, which should be noticed especially in equipment lining manufacturing

PRODUCTS

    FLUOROPLASTICSDescription
  • Flugenx® PVDF

Flugenx® PVDF is translucent white powder or granules, with molecular chain arranging closely. It has strong hydrogen bonds and an oxygen index of 46%.Flugenx® PVDF is not flammable, and its crystallinity ranges from 65% to 78%, density from 1.17 g/cm³ to 1.79g/cm³, heat deformation temperature from 112℃ to 145℃, and long-term use temperature from -40℃ to 150℃. In addition, its melting point registers at 172℃.

Flugenx® PVDF boasts good resistance to chemicals, heat, oxidation, and radiation and weatherability. It can also display some other special properties, such as piezoelectricity, dielectric property, thermoelectricity and so on.

In terms of modified materials, we also offer color matching and other customized services.

  • Flugenx® PFA

Flugenx® PFA is a kind of copolymer made from a small amount of perfluoro perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether and PTFE. The bond vitrified increases while the dissolution viscosity decreases. However, its performance is like that of PTFE. Flugenx® PFA’s melting point is about 580℉. Its density ranges from 2.13 g/cc to 2.16g/cc (g/cm3). It also features better creep resistance and compressive strength than PTEF, with ideal tensile strength that it can be elongated by up to 100% to 300%. In addition, good dielectric properties and radiation resistance are also its shining spots.Flugenx® PFA‘s flame retardancy can reach level V0, and its long-term use temperature registers from -196℃ to 260℃.

Flugenx® PFA also has excellent chemical corrosion resistance, with the lowest friction coefficient among all plastics. Together with good electrical properties and electrical insulation property not affected by temperatures, Flugenx® PFA is renowned as "the king of plastics".

In terms of modified materials, we also offer color matching and other customized services.

  • Flugenx® ETFE

Flugenx® ETFE is the most powerful fluorine plastic, as all of its mechanical properties have reached a better balance——super strong ripping resistance and great tensile strength, medium hardness, excellent impact resistance, and a long service life even if stretched frequently. It is a good dielectric material with high dielectric strength and a high resistivity. It has a low dissipation factor which is only 0.003. Its dielectric constant is 2.6 and is basically constant despite frequency and temperature changes.

Flugenx® ETFE can be used at a wide range of temperatures, and the constant temperature is usually set between -65℃ to 150℃. What’s more, it is still extraordinarily hard at the ultra-low temperatures. Its brittle temperature can be as low as -100℃.

In addition,Flugenx® ETFE has passed several rigorous flame retardancy tests, and reached IEEE 383 standards and UL 94 V-0 as a result. Most chemicals have negligible effect on the physical properties of Flugenx® ETFE, and it is unlikely to be permeated by normal gases or water vapor.

In terms of modified materials, we also offer color matching and other customized services.

  • Flugenx® FEP

Flugenx® FEP, as a copolymer made from tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, has a crystalline melting point of 304℃, with its density reaching 2.15g/cc (g/cm³).

Flugenx® FEP can be applied for producing soft plastics, because its tensile strength, wear resistance and creep resistance are weaker than those of many engineering plastics.

It is a chemically inert material with a relatively low dielectric constant at a wide range of temperatures and frequencies.

In terms of modified materials, we also offer color matching and other customized services.
